Find It Friday – Question & Answer – I was asked a few weeks ago by a client how she might be able to get more people to see and engage with her Facebook updates. Given the recent changes Facebook has made with its algorithms so that it seems that a much lower percentage of fans are seeing updates (although this post by Jon Loomer questions that and makes a good read), it seems good timing to show you how to increase visibility of your updates on Facebook.
I’m presuming that your Facebook update is compelling and engaging, that it includes a great image or video and/or your text is inviting comment. However, perhaps you posted it at the wrong time or there is another reason that it just hasn’t been seen by that many of your fans (or anyone else).
One way to increase engagement and viewing is to direct a tweet (with engaging text that invites comment) to that facebook update.
1. Go to the facebook update that you wish to highlight.
2. Click on the timestamp (the time/day that the update was posted)
3. A url for that update will appear in your address bar.
4. Copy the url, shorten the link and include it in a compelling tweet.
5. Simple as that.
If you are puzzling over a social media question, do send it to us and we’ll answer it in a Find It Friday post. Hope you have a lovely weekend, Lorna
