If you set up your Pinterest account in its early days, you may still have a personal account or you may have opted for a personal account when you set up. If you have a business, it’s a good idea to convert your personal account to a business one. Here’s why:
- You can use Pinterest Analytics which provide lots of useful information. For example, here’s some tips on how to find your brand ambassadors on Pinterest by using Pinterest analytics.
- You will be able to use Rich Pins – there are six types and these include product pins which provide the price on each product. If someone pins a product pin and you reduce the price in your store, they should receive an email notifying them of the price reduction so it’s a great way to tell people when your sales are on as well as remind them about you.
- You can verify your website address - it will display under your name with a little red tick beside it. It contains an automatic link to your website.
Your account will still appear the same to any onlookers – the only visible difference is that your website is verified.
To convert to a business account (it’s very easy):
Select ‘businesses’ in the drop down menu.
Or you can go straight to this link.
Click ‘convert now’ and follow the steps. Pinterest will ask you to choose categories for your business. Verifying your account will give you access to Pinterest analytics – some people manage to do it on their own, others enlist the help of their web designer. Once verified, the analytics information will start to collate.
Come back next week for more tips when using Pinterest analytics – they really do provide a treasure trove of interesting information. Once you start to analyse the data, you will work out how to get even more from your pins.
